Virtual Writers’ Workshop News!
Your Free Weekly Writing Power Hour – Now with a New Home
Create accountability and get your writing done.
Over the last year, we’ve been running a free Virtual Writers’ Workshop every Wednesday at 10 a.m. It’s a dedicated hour for writers to come together, block out distractions, and focus on their work in a supportive space.
Whether you’re writing for one of our courses or tackling a personal project, this is your time to make real progress.
Until now, we’ve hosted these sessions on Zoom. But starting 26th February, we’ll be moving to Microsoft Teams.
Why the change?
Teams gives us more flexibility, allowing different hosts to run sessions smoothly without relying on a single Zoom account.
How to Join:
Sign up for free and get access to the calendar and all the session links. We’ll continue on Zoom for the next few weeks before fully switching to Teams on 26th February.

Last Call To Write Exercise
by Calieb F. Thresher
If you find yourself at the end of an afternoon with a spare hour, go to your nearest coffee shop. Do it about an hour before they’re due to close. Go in with your laptop or notebook or whatever you’re most comfortable writing with. Buy yourself a drink, anything cheap, and sit and challenge yourself to write until they close — until they kick you out.
The pressure of knowing they’re gonna close can be a good incentive. You know that you can only write for an hour, so you might as well do some since you’re there and they close soon anyway. It’s a little psychological trick to help you continue your work when there’s a block. Go and see if it works for you.
Film can be anything.
Thanks for taking the time to read this edition of the Network, we really appreciate your support.
Best wishes,
The Film Sussex Team
